Co-Creation at hack/reduce
Co-Creation is a new model for building companies. We pair strong founding teams from our hack/reduce community with ideas from our Co-Creation Advisors. We believe that ideas stemming from deep domain expertise, paired with the right talent, will produce great companies.
Over the next 12 months, we will work with our Co-Creation advisors and hack/reduce teams to start between 8 and 12 companies. These companies will be related to the following sectors within the Big Data stack:
- Cybersecurity
- Cloud
- Storage
- Internet of Things
- Mobility
- Compute
- Networking
hack/reduce is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. As a non-profit we take 0% equity. We are focused on working with great teams to build companies that will make an impact in the Big Data ecosystem.
Advisors and Founding Teams
Our Co-Creation Advisor network is comprised of experienced entrepreneurs with track records of creating multiple successful companies. We lean on their domain expertise to identify opportunities and trends that we can grow into companies.
Operating teams are assembled from our hack/reduce community and network. Our community is comprised of technologists, data scientists, salespeople and marketers who are working in the Big Data space. These individuals have interacted with hack/reduce through our events, hackathons, student scholar programs and more.
Building companies
Our Co-Creation model emphasizes building companies, not raising capital. We have created an ecosystem of company partners to help teams define their products, acquire their first customers and prove that there is demand for the company that they've co-created.
We also realize the building a company takes time. Each of our co-created companies works with us for up to 12 months before they 'graduate'.
